Pretty day after the storms!

Today was almost like a beautiful fall day, except for it was in May! Yesterday we had big storms. Tornados reported, flooded streets and hail. We drove over to Midland to see the water over there. They had about 5 inches in an hour! The ground was so soft all the birds were getting food and worms very easily. We went to to parks and our usual walking path was completley covered in water! We saw a female hummingbird under a picnic table gathering spider webs for a new nest. A beautiful blue jay and a Robin taking a bath! (he wasn't even shy! I would have been)
A great day God made!!!

Storm Day!

So today started out okee dokee. But ended awesome! You know if we listened to the weather people here, who knows what we would prepare for! They said we didn't have a chance for any storms until tomorrow. WRONG! We went to eat at Fuddruckers at dinner and when we came out I noticed a few clouds trying to build, but getting capped so they didn't form. But the energy was there. Made for a beautiful sunset though. So I thought since it was getting later with more moisture in the air we might get something. Yep about 10:30 pm KABOOM!! It started hailing sounded like bombs! Half dollar size hail, pretty loud! Turned out to be a great day!

Mosquito season has arrived!

Well it has happened the most dreadfull day of the year! MOSQUITOS! The companies that make the spray are having a party! We went to the trail today to see some new birds. The skeeters were so awful that we could not even stay a few mins. They were so bad they were trying to get in our ears! I did manage to not get eaten long enough to see and photograph a bird I had never seen before. Now I have to figure out what it was. So starts another sketter season, my new smell for 6 month will be DEET! Cause I will not let those pesky varmits keep me from seeing a painted bunting or an oriole this year!!! ;0)
